Final Destination Bloodlines is the latest addition to the beloved horror franchise, which centers around the relentless pursuit of death and humanity’s futile attempts to escape it. As with its predecessors, the film follows a group of individuals trying to avoid a gruesome fate after one person experiences a chilling premonition. However, this time, the story revolves around a single family rather than a group of friends or survivors of a catastrophic event.

The official synopsis reads: “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie returns home in search of the one person who may be able to end the cycle and save her family from the grisly doom that awaits them all.”

According to the trailer, the plot kicks off when a woman survives a disaster meant to claim her life — along with many others — only to later start a family. But soon, she discovers that Death is relentless in its pursuit.

“Death is coming for us because we were never meant to exist,” her grandchildren eventually realize.

Final Destination Bloodlines doesn’t forget its roots, with subtle references to previous films in the franchise. It also brings back horror icon Tony Todd for his final on-screen appearance as William Bludworth, the franchise’s mysterious figure who always offers grim wisdom. As expected, his cryptic advice is a key theme: “Only by embracing death will it pass you by.”

Fans of the series can expect even more ingeniously staged and gruesome death scenes, triggered by complex chains of events. So, get ready to add “glass shards in glass” to your list of fears, alongside “death by logs” and “laser eye surgery gone horribly wrong.”

Starring Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger, Final Destination Bloodlines is directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, with a screenplay penned by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor.
