Finneas Claims He Was Tear-Gassed at Los Angeles ICE Protest: “They’re Inciting This”

Grammy-winning musician Finneas, known for his work as a producer and his role as Billie Eilish’s older brother, recently shared his experience of being tear-gassed during a protest against ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) in Los Angeles.

On Sunday, the 27-year-old posted on his Instagram Story about the incident, writing, “Tear-gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown — they’re inciting this.” Finneas was attending one of the many demonstrations held throughout Los Angeles in response to ongoing immigration raids conducted by ICE, which have targeted undocumented immigrants in the area.

In another Instagram post, Finneas expressed his strong stance, adding, “F— ICE.”

A representative for Finneas has not yet commented on the situation when contacted by Entertainment Weekly.

The protests coincided with an announcement by President Donald Trump, who revealed plans to send the National Guard to the region, intensifying an already volatile situation. In response, California Governor Gavin Newsom voiced his opposition, urging the federal government to “rescind their unlawful deployment of troops” and return control to the state. Newsom called this a violation of state sovereignty, writing on social media, “We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved… Rescind the order. Return control to California.”

Newsom later confirmed that California would take legal action against Trump regarding the National Guard deployment, emphasizing, “This is exactly what Donald Trump wanted. He flamed the fires and illegally acted to federalize the National Guard. The order he signed doesn’t just apply to CA. It will allow him to go into ANY STATE and do the same thing. We’re suing him.”

Throughout the protest, Finneas also shared several posts from others, including one from comedian Tim Heidecker, who wrote: “I [heart emoji] LA. F————-K ICE. F— OFF ALL OF YOU WEEKEND GI JOE LOSERS. IF YOU ARE INTO THIS FASCIST S— YOU ARE SMALL AND WEAK AND WILL LOSE.”
