The History of the Budweiser Christmas Sweater
The Budweiser Christmas Sweater has a long and storied history. The original sweater was commissioned in 1934 by Adolphus Busch, Jr. to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the brewery. Designed by artist Albert Kuphaldt, the sweater features a green and red Christmas tree with a Budweiser banner across the front. The sweaters have been worn by many celebrities over the years, including Johnny Carson, Neil Diamond, and Whoopi Goldberg. In 2003, Budweiser created a limited-edition version of the sweater that featured an image of Anheuser-Busch’s founder Adolphus Busch Sr. on a snow-covered beer barrel.
