Edward James Kenway

Edward James Kenway was an Assassin of British origin operating in the West Indies and American Colonies during the early 18th century. He was born to a Welsh father and an English mother in Bristol, England. Edward’s grandfather, Simon Williams, was a member of the Templars. As a young man, Edward became a privateer for the Royal Navy and later joined the Assassins.

During his time as an Assassin, Kenway fought against the Templars’ attempts to control piracy in the Caribbean and their ongoing battle for control of the Pieces of Eden. He also helped overthrow Governor Woodes Rogers in Nassau and liberate The Bahamas from Templar rule. In 1735, he retired from active duty and moved to London with his wife and daughter. However, he continued to fight against the Templars until his death in 1781.
