How to make a quilt blanket

Assuming you would like a step by step on how to make a quilt blanket:

1. Cut your fabric into squares. You will need 44 squares that are 10”x10”. If you want a bigger or smaller quilt, simply adjust the size of your squares accordingly.
2. Lay out your squares in 7 rows of 6 squares each until you have a nice design that you like. You can mix and match different colors and patterns to create a unique look.
3. Once you have your fabric squares arranged the way you want them, it’s time to start sewing them together. To do this, take two adjacent squares and sew them right sides together along one edge using a ½” seam allowance. Repeat this process for all 44 pairs of fabric squares until they are all sewn together in one big rectangular piece.
4. Now it’s time to add the batting and backing fabric. Cut two pieces of batting or flannel that are slightly larger than your quilt top (we cut ours at 60”x70”). Place one piece of batting on top of the quilt top wrong side up and smooth it out so there are no wrinkles or lumps. Then place the other piece of batting on top of that, also wrong side up, and smooth it out again.
