On a recent episode of The View, co-host Ana Navarro shared her candid thoughts about The Golden Bachelorette, expressing her skepticism about the dating show.

Months after urging the producers to refrain from discussing The Golden Bachelor, Navarro doubled down on her views while speaking directly with Joan Vassos, the star of The Golden Bachelorette.

“I’m the odd one out here. Everyone else is a fan, but I’ve never watched an episode—it just doesn’t interest me,” Navarro stated, reinforcing her previous criticism of the series, which airs on the same network as The View, ABC.

However, Navarro did express a willingness to reconsider her stance, asking Vassos about the show’s authenticity. “What would you say to skeptics like me who think this is all scripted and a bit too corny?” she inquired, maintaining eye contact with Vassos.

Vassos responded, “I totally understand why you might think that. It’s not scripted at all, except for matching people they believe would be a good fit for you.” Navarro, intrigued, repeated “really?” twice as Vassos continued. “Honestly, it’s not scripted. They don’t tell you what to say or who to choose. They set up fun dates, but they also ask for your input on what you’d like to do. So, it’s genuinely not scripted—at least not in my experience or in The Golden Bachelorette.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out for comments from representatives of The Golden Bachelorette.

In a November 2023 episode, Navarro made her disinterest clear regarding the debut season of The Golden Bachelor, which follows 72-year-old Gerry Turner as he looks for love among women over 60.

“I have one golden question: Brian, when is The Golden Bachelor ending, so I don’t have to talk about it on Fridays anymore?” Navarro asked producer Brian Teta. The camera then panned to Teta, who replied, “We have a few more weeks, but I think we might do some extra shows just for you.”

Sara Haines chimed in playfully, “I think we should throw a viewing party and make her watch!”
