Chris Hemsworth Learns Drumming and Performs with Ed Sheeran for 70000 Fans
Chris Hemsworth has added another impressive skill to his repertoire: playing the drums. On Saturday, the Australian actor took on the role of drummer for his friend Ed Sheeran, performing the hit song “Thinking Out Loud” in front of a massive crowd of 70,000 in Bucharest, Romania.
Hemsworth’s journey to mastering the drums was part of a challenge for his National Geographic show, Limitless With Chris Hemsworth. Starting from scratch, the Thor star dedicated himself to learning percussion for this special moment.
In an Instagram video, Sheeran shared that Hemsworth had contacted him last December about a “documentary” he was filming focused on “cognitive health and the benefits of learning instruments.”
“I’ve been thinking about this a lot,” Hemsworth told Sheeran in the video. “I’m ready to put this one to bed.”
Despite some visible nerves before stepping onto the stage at the National Arena, Hemsworth rose to the occasion, delivering a solid performance that earned him a playful “participation award” from Sheeran after the show.
