Cooper Koch Confirms He Didn’t Use a Prosthetic for Full-Frontal Nude Scene in Monsters: ‘Well-Hung!’

Actor Cooper Koch has opened up about his bold full-frontal nude scene in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story, the Netflix drama series co-created by Ryan Murphy. Koch, who portrays convicted murderer Erik Menéndez, shared that he did not use a prosthetic penis during a shower scene in the show.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Koch made the surprising revelation while Cohen was listing some of the most iconic full-frontal nude scenes in entertainment, referencing performances by Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley, Kate Winslet in Titanic, Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, and Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct. As Cohen mentioned Mark Wahlberg’s use of a prosthetic in Boogie Nights, Koch chimed in to clarify, saying, “Also, just to say, mine was not a prosthetic.” He then playfully apologized for interrupting Cohen with the news.

Cohen responded by asking, “You’re very blessed, aren’t you?” to which Koch grinned and confidently replied, “Well-hung!”

Koch’s revealing scene takes place in episode 3 of the series, which recounts the real-life story of brothers Lyle and Erik Menéndez, who were sentenced to prison in 1996 for the murder of their parents, José and Kitty Menéndez. The show portrays Erik struggling with prison life and forming a unique connection with another inmate, with the shower scene serving as a significant moment in the episode.

While Monsters has stirred interest in the Menéndez case, Erik Menéndez expressed his disapproval of the series in a statement shared by his wife on social media. He criticized the show for portraying his brother, Lyle, in what he described as a false and damaging manner, suggesting it was done deliberately.

Ryan Murphy has defended his portrayal of the Menéndez brothers, suggesting the show has reignited public interest in their case. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy said, “The Menéndez brothers should be sending me flowers. They haven’t had this much attention in 30 years. It’s sparked interest in their case from people all over the world, and I know many have offered to help them because of the show.”
