Michelle Pfeiffer Joins Yellowstone’s First Present-Day Spinoff
The spinoff, originally titled “2024,” is now officially named “The Madison.”
Exciting developments continue to emerge from the world of Yellowstone. As the popular series gears up for its final season, which will notably proceed without its star Kevin Costner, preparations are underway for its next chapter. The upcoming spinoff has been renamed “The Madison,” and it will feature none other than Michelle Pfeiffer, who will both executive produce and star in the series.
According to a press release, “The Madison” is described as “a heartfelt exploration of grief and human connection, centered around a New York City family in the Madison River Valley of central Montana.”
Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, praised Pfeiffer’s involvement, stating, “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who brings emotional depth, authenticity, and grace to every role she plays. She is the perfect anchor for the newest chapter in the Yellowstone universe, Madison, conceived by the brilliant Taylor Sheridan.”
“The Madison” marks Yellowstone’s first spinoff set in the present day. Previously, when the project was still known as “2024,” there were discussions that creator Taylor Sheridan was in talks with Matthew McConaughey to take a leading role. Additionally, there were speculations that some of Yellowstone’s main cast members, such as Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, and Cole Hauser, might join the new series. However, it remains uncertain if any of them will transition to “The Madison.”
The final shape of “The Madison” will likely depend on how Yellowstone concludes. With the series set to return for the second half of its fifth season in November, fans won’t have to wait long for more answers.
Yellowstone returns on Sunday, Nov. 10, on the Paramount Network.
