How to make the Baby Yoda Groot Cute Arizona Diamondbacks Ugly Christmas Sweater
Step one is to find a groot sweater that you love. The Arizona Diamondbacks Ugly Christmas Sweater by Ashley has a comical and adorable design of Baby Yoda in Groot form.
Step two is to pick the right size for your child. This particular sweater will fit most children up to around 4 or 5 years old, but if you have a very large or very small child, they may need to go up or down a size accordingly.
Step three is to get the fabric ready. You will need two pieces of fabric measuring approximately 24 inches by 18 inches each.
Step four is to start sewing! Begin by placing one piece of fabric on top of the other, so that the baby yoda pattern is facing outwards. Make sure the edges are lined up perfectly and sew along the sides and bottom seam, using a straight stitch. Do not forget to turn your garment inside out before sewing the final seam!
Now it’s time for the fun part…the finishing touches! To make Baby Yoda look cute and like he’s waving at you, we’re going to add some little details here and there…
First up is his little leafy crown. Cut two identical pieces of fabric measuring 3½ inches by 2½ inches each, then iron them flat. Pin one piece onto the front side of your groot sweater (where his mouth would be), making sure it lines up correctly with his teeth and eyesight. Sew along
Steps to making Baby Yoda Groot Cute Arizona Diamondbacks Ugly Christmas Sweater
1. Start with a fitted adult sweater. If you don’t have one, use an old shirt of your child’s.
2. Cut out the Yoda character from the sweater using a pattern or just freehand it. Be sure to leave enough material to sew the arms and legs onto the body of the sweater.
3. Make small stitches all around the outline of Yoda. Leave a large opening for his head so that he can see and hear (and hopefully breathe).
4. Sew the head onto the body of the sweater using a zigzag stitch to make sure it’s secure.
5. Now it’s time to add some personality! Use fabric paint or markers to draw facial features on Yoda, such as eyes, eyebrows and mouth (or even a green mustache!). Add any other details that strike your fancy – he’s sure to be everyone’s new favorite holiday decoration!
