Materials needed
In order to complete this project, you will need the following materials:
-1 skein of worsted weight yarn in main color (MC)
-1 skein of worsted weight yarn in contrast color (CC)
-Size US 7 straight knitting needles
-Tape measure
-Scissors
-Yarn needle
Finishing the sweater
Assuming you have already knit the body and sleeves of your sweater, now it is time to finish the garment. To do this, first wet block your sweater pieces. This means soaking them in lukewarm water until they are saturated, then pinning them out to their finished measurements on a blocking board or towel. Once the sweater pieces are dry, use a tapestry needle and thread to sew the shoulder seams together using a mattress stitch. Then, with right sides facing each other, line up the sleeve seams and sew them in place using a whipstitch. Finally, use the same whipstitch to sew the side seams together. Weave in any loose ends and your ugly Christmas sweater is complete!
