How to make Vert Der Ferk Knitting Pattern
How to make Vert Der Ferk Knitting Pattern
Vert Der Ferk is a knitted pattern that was popularized by the musician Afrika Bambaataa. It’s a funky, eye-catching stitch pattern that can be used for sweaters and other garments. The knitting instructions are provided below.
To begin, cast on 36 stitches and knit in the round. The first round begins with a k1, p1 ribbing. The next round is the vert stitch pattern: k2, p2, yo, k2tog, psso, repeat around. The last round is normal knitting.
When you reach the end of the round, bind off all stitches except for the last 2, which you will keep together to form the neck edge (see photo 1). Note: When binding off your stitches for the neck edge, be sure to leave long enough tail so you can sew it closed later (see photo 2). Weave in all ends.
