Phaedra Parks Teases Her Exciting Return to Real Housewives of Atlanta: Expect “A Lot of Spiciness”
Phaedra Parks is set to make a thrilling comeback to The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) with season 16 promising to reignite the show’s golden years.
The multi-talented lawyer, mortician, and Traitors star recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she has completed filming for the upcoming season of the Bravo reality hit, just days before her big debut on Dancing With the Stars.
“We finished filming just a few days ago—almost a week now—and I believe it’s going to be fantastic,” Parks shared during a Dancing With the Stars press event. “There was a cast shakeup, and the new lineup is definitely bringing the heat.”
This shakeup followed the departure of several regulars, including Sherée Whitfield, Marlo Hampton, and Kandi Burruss, with Kenya Moore also exiting the show amidst her own controversy. However, as one chapter closes, another opens. Both Parks and Porsha Williams are set to return, joining Drew Sidora, friend-turned-main-cast-member Shamea Morton Mwangi, and newcomers Brittany Eady, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley.
Parks hints at what viewers can look forward to: “Expect a lot of spiciness along with genuine fun. I hope we’re going back to the glory days of Atlanta.”
She also promises that the themes of “friendship, love, and sisterhood” will be central to the new season.
Parks originally joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in its third season in 2010, but left the show seven years later after controversy involving a rumor about Kandi Burruss in season 9. Since then, she has appeared on other Housewives series, including The Real Housewives of Dubai and season 2 of The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, as well as Married to Medicine.
In the meantime, fans will get to see Parks showcase her dance moves on Dancing With the Stars. “I’m looking forward to the waltz, though it sounds like it will be quite challenging and might leave me with a sore neck,” she joked. “But I’m excited about the elegance of it. The pasodoble is also intriguing—it has a bit of a spooky, mysterious vibe, which fits well with my background as a mortician.”
Dancing With the Stars premieres on September 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
