Actor T.J. Miller has expressed enthusiasm about returning for a potential Deadpool 4, sharing that he’d be open to the idea if his “good friend” Ryan Reynolds were to ask. Miller, who played Weasel in 2016’s Deadpool and its 2018 sequel, was absent from the latest installment, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Appearing on SiriusXM’s The Bonfire, Miller mentioned a recent conversation with Reynolds, saying, “I think him asking me, I think he’s just been such a good friend right now that I think it would be really, I think that would be awesome.”

Miller’s relationship with Reynolds has had its ups and downs. In 2018, as Deadpool 2 hit theaters, Miller was dealing with personal controversies, including an arrest for a false bomb threat and allegations of sexual misconduct, both of which he denies. By October 2022, Miller publicly stated he’d never work with Reynolds again, describing his on-set behavior as “horrifically mean.”

However, Miller later clarified that Reynolds reached out to him, which helped mend their friendship. On SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show, Miller explained, “It was a misunderstanding, so I emailed him back and now it’s, like, fine.”

There’s been no official announcement of a fourth film, but Deadpool & Wolverine became a record-breaking success at the summer box office, surpassing Joker as the highest-grossing R-rated movie.

In his recent interview, Miller also touched on his complicated history with director Michael Bay, who directed him in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Miller had previously criticized Bay’s intense on-set approach but now considers Bay a friend. “I’m friends with Michael Bay, and I think during that experience with Transformers 4, I was not sure that I would work with him again,” he said. “But now I’m buddies with him enough that I would do almost anything that he wanted to do.”

Representatives for Reynolds and Bay have not yet commented on Miller’s statements. Miller’s last film appearance was in 2020’s The Stand In, starring Drew Barrymore.
