Watch the Olympics Women’s 200m Medalists React to a Call from Snoop Dogg
The rapper continues to make his mark in Paris.
Snoop Dogg’s remarkable presence in Paris shows no signs of slowing down.
The rapper, who has been a delight at the 2024 Olympics, made waves once again by calling the winners of Tuesday’s 200m final. A video of Snoop Dogg congratulating the athletes with, “Great job, ladies! Great job!” was shared on Facebook by the official Team USA Track and Field account.
Gabby Thomas, the American gold medalist, silver medalist Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia, and bronze medalist Brittany Brown, also from the U.S., were ecstatic to receive the call. Brown was especially thrilled, noting that she hails from Pomona, California, just like Snoop Dogg.
This call was another joyful moment for Snoop Dogg, who has had a memorable time in the City of Light, serving as a special ambassador for NBC.
The Grammy-nominated artist has been an energetic presence, carrying the torch, cheering for athletes—often sporting their faces on his shirts—and mingling with their families. He has humorously toured Parisian landmarks, performed his iconic songs, dined with his good friend Martha Stewart, and distributed his unique version of the traditional Olympic pins. Snoop’s custom pin, depicting him exhaling Olympic rings, has become the must-have item of the year.
“When the lights are on, that’s when I shine the best,” Snoop Dogg told the Associated Press in an article published Monday. “This opportunity was nothing but a chance for me to show the world what it’s supposed to look like when you put the right person in the right environment.”
The Olympics conclude on Saturday, August 9, but fans won’t have to wait long to see Snoop Dogg again. He will return to NBC as a coach on “The Voice,” with the new season premiering on September 23.
