Zach Braff, the multi-talented writer, director, and actor behind Garden State, faced a tricky challenge on a recent episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. During the show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Braff was put on the spot and asked to name all six children of his close friend and longtime Scrubs co-star, Donald Faison.

Fans of the duo know that Braff and Faison’s friendship extends far beyond their nine-season run on the beloved medical comedy. Their bond, which began long before Scrubs premiered in 2001, has been a hallmark of their lives both on and off the screen.

When Kimmel posed the question, Braff quickly named the first five kids: Kobe, Dade, Kaya, Wilder, and Rocco. However, when it came to the sixth child’s name, Braff hesitated before admitting, “That one’s the most grown, and I don’t know his name. I’m sorry.”

Faison, ever the supportive friend, responded calmly, “It’s all right. His name is Sean.”

Faison, known for his roles in Clueless and Felicity, shares his two youngest children, Wilder and Rocco, with his wife, CaCee Cobb. The couple tied the knot at Braff’s home in December 2012. Faison’s late ex-wife, Lisa Askey, is the mother of Kobe, Dade, and Kaya, while Sean’s mother is his former partner, Audrey Ince.

The deep friendship between Braff and Faison, which began during their initial table read for Scrubs, has only grown stronger over the years. Faison reminisced about their early days on The Kelly Clarkson Show, recalling how they bonded over their shared sense of humor and even shared an apartment in New York after the first season of Scrubs.

“I realized he was my best friend when we were in the living room playing ping pong in our underwear,” Faison joked. “I was like, ‘You’re my best friend! Look at us!'”

Fans can catch Braff and Faison’s (fully clothed) appearance on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
